Well it looks like the gaskets-unshrivelled and are fine. There are odd black spots though. Should be fine?

My welder got creative.
This won't work without being lower will it? Or if it does it will be very tight.

I like the concept though!

Your welder needs to go back and try this again.

Yeah I may have to. It's about the same height as the stock housing (except the opsu doesn't thread in there). Does the ls6 mani sit fine on the valley tray if the opsu sensor is removed?

Thanks,

Mike

All your welder had to do was chop it and reweld at about 30 degree angle. Don't know why he chopped it flush, but since it is flush might as well copy how I did mine and just relocate the opsu

parkave did your hood shut ok with the TBSS manifold? I have a line on one right now and I might use that over the speed master as it makes a little more low end power.

good read for choosing a new intake manifold for the LS4. particularly the stock truck manifold making 1 less avg hp and more avg torque than the ls6 IM. maybe its the engine build or what. here's the link:

Spawne, that's the intake I have been working on, still facing power steering pump clearnence , even with the suction line rewelded. The other alternative is the Chevy ssr older truck intake manifold which has a 90mm inlet

How the heck do you rip the alternator bracket off?

Every bolt I back off touches a bloody pulley.

Yeh im probably just gonna stick with the speedmaster conversion for simplicity sake. I just have to finish porting it.

haha.. Removing the tensioner can be a bitch. I didn't even try. I seen that bolt and said no. I just used a grinder and hacked away with it mounted.

I've got the tensioner loose; I don't have the first clue how to get these bolts out without removing the pulleys near them

I was going to disable dod but keep the connection in tact; the more I mess with the connector the more I think I will put the blank connector back and not plug anything in...

What did everyone do to get the leads better exposed?

in case anyone cares, rockauto has ls1/ls6 and ls2 intakes pretty cheap. ls1/ls6 is like 280, ls2 is 220.

I think the LS1/LS6 ones are a new doorman design that doesn't fit due to the power steering pump; someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Not bad for LS2!

wouldnt be as good as an LS6 but still a significant improvement over the LS1 and leaps and bounds over the LS4
