A pretty good word at 70k miles
Hit 70k recently haven't been around here for a while but have to say no tranny probs and this car has been a great all arounder since 10k when I bought it. The shaker hood is a crowd pleaser (mostly) and keeps the tranny cool. The car will keep up with most camaro and wrx if you know to start from a roll and how to use tap shift. Even stock like I have been for a year or so now. Some of the best seats and interior I have sat in. Not to mention the heads up display. I haven't been the nicest to it I wash it only twice a year (by hand) no rust.and it eats the Minnesota snow. I'm going to take a look around the forum... See what's new. Cheers

Thanks need to do some browsing get re-introduced to everyone see what's happening in the community. Some of it seems more of the same so far. This is my daily car I've got a 70 formula 400 with a 428 that seems to take itself apart every year 😁 I just don't see a lot of good posts about these cars but had good luck myself I suppose (it was a damn rental car before I had it) guess I appreciate what the engineers had to do to make it happen. And nothing is perfect

Big fan of the Firebird formula, I have owned 5 although my oldest was 1976 with the 400. Had 2 89 formula 350's as well as a 94 and a 95 with the LT1. There is quite a bit going on here lately, check out spawne32 post, the car is coming along great. Lots of the turbo cars here are getting refreshed as well. Read some posts, seems to be a resurgence lately on this site.

Haha I beat him by 2 cars but he creeped a hair maybe on the topend. Like I said, he was untuned with the cam so he was running super rich. Also he said it was 450hp. But everyone there says hes full of ****. Hes definitely under 300 wheel. He probably has cam only. His exhaust tips are still stock but they stick out a bit more. Maybe headers to stock catback. Believe me. I was expecting to get murdered.

Thats what I was thinking before we even raced. Afterwords he came up with a boat load of excuses to why he lost the roll. He was a nice guy and all. No real smack talking. Just waaayy over estimated his car and underestimated the ls4. If I would have had a shift kit he would never have pulled back at all. Thats where I lost ground is on the shifts. He had a kit in his (scratches 2nd every time). My car takes an eternity to shift. Slips hard on 1-2 shift

Although this has totally been hijacked I appreciate the positive attitudes for a change. The real beauty in these cars is the realization that sometimes you do things because they are hard (Kennedy)and it makes you better, sharper, and more skilled in the pursuit

I could have a new motor pretty quick. I drive it pretty nice for the most part. Even if I go wot I keep it under 5000 rpm. It hasn't gotten worse in the past month. Except for some added lifter tick. Probably a collapsing dod lifter.
