cat backs... just curious... r the exhausts the same for montes and impalas? i was on the dynomax site, and they have nothing listed for 06-07 montes, but have a VT exhaust listed for the 3.9 and 5.3 impalas... same kit... i looked up the '04 monte with the 3.8, and it lists a super turbo system for the monte, impala, grand prix with the 3.8, and also the '05 GP with the 5.3... sounds like they're all interchangeable... so will the impala VT cat back fit on the monte?? thanks...

I have always wondered the same thing, for the most part they are the same car but there are some odds and ends that make each just as different as well. I am still looking for that answer myself so I am curious as to what people say.

The Impala's tail pipes are offset and the Montes are center. I also believe the 5.3 has 2.5 inch pipe coming out of the cat to a 2.0 after the Y and finally 2.25 tail pipes. Even makes after market mufflers a pia as I had to fab up two exhaust bushings to make the 2.0 have a 2.25 OD for a muffler. I believe the 3.8 and 3.9 motor cars have 2.25 coming out of the cat. I'm not 100% sure about those motors in the gen 3 w cars.
