Default Questions for people with aftermarket radios

I've got GMOS-04 + the steering wheel interface.

On my pioneer nav harness I have the following that I am unsure of:
Car speed signal input - where would you connect this?
Reverse gear signal input - where is the best spot to get this signal?
Parking brake signal
There is also a blue and white remote system control wire - is this just a turn on lead for aftermarket amps?

Thanks

Did it not come with instructions? I didnt use that interface when installing mine, and had no problems with anything as things go it was really a breeze and everything worked out well. It wont help you but this is what I used.

Thanks dude - It has instructions for almost everything but I'm not sure where to catch some of the connections I listed (especially car speed signal input).

So you mounted the GPS close to the radio? I was going to run it up a pillar or something; if I can mount it on something near where the radio sits and still get good connection that would make me happy too!

Where did you put the microphone out of curiosity?

If you check that thread it shows where I mounted the GPS antenna(5th pic). After a ton of research and some debate I tried it there and it works just fine. I guess it gets a clear signal from there. I read many post stating to try it there first, glad I did. Microphone is on the steering column, dead middle right in front of gauges.

Nope - it turns out the interface I have (GMOS-04) has everything I need.
For some reason I didn't think it would. Now that I've started putting the harness together I've found all of the required connections (so far).

Thanks to the super being a one-off as far as dash colours I had to go get the bezel painted to match the rest of the interior!

edit - lol, pill bottles, inhalers, nazal sprays... didn't realize I left all of that in for the photo, can anyone tell I have pneumonia?

Not yet - haven't been able to find one that matches the cocoa interior and the wood trip in the car yet.

Would be awesome if I could get it working though.

Well,

GMOS04 harness is in and works mint. I'm having trouble running my microphone, GPS antenna, USB and aux cords to where I need them.

This dash is very tightly sealed from the areas surrounding it.

The nav unit also won't open up to expose the CD/DVD & SD cards with the current dash kit; I'm going to have to try messing with it to get it to work.

My controls are not perfect either, never bothered to get them 100 percent matched up but all works. This looks fantastic!

I purchased a boyo rear license plate frame - the thing is nice and heavy!

Running the cables from the bumper into the car was the hardest part.. I may have messed with my ultrasonic park assist since it's now a blinking red light , will need to investigate further.

Took the opportunity to install my kappa tweeters, mini hdmi cord and set of rca's from the radio to trunk for a future sub

Nice, I just have the bar style plate mount for the back up cam but it has good clear vision. Where did you install the tweeters? I am doing Polks hopefully soon, components in the front doors and swapping the rear 6 x 9's as well.

I took the mounting cups off of the kappas and they fit in the stock a-pillar mounting location well. I added some double sided tape for good measure.

Sounds odd but I have the crossover in the side compartment (one that you pull off on each side of the dash after you open the door)

Also - turns out the car has sound deadening (looks like cheap dynamat) in the trunk already which is pretty cool.

Buick always came with a little nicer or a little more, doesn't surprise me they added sound deadening. My GP has tweeters in the door, so that's where they will stay.

I think I may have yanked my ultrasonic park assist, I have the flashing red light of death now. All sensors appear to be plugged in.

Does anyone know where the diagnoses pin is on these cars (need to short it to enter diagnoses mode)?
