First three mods, bang for the buck.
What would you do if you were to pick three? A buddy of mine has an Impala ss and wants to buy three things for it. I know that is a really broad question but what would you do first if you bought a stock car? I'm sure a dyno tune will be one, that is my only one I am sure of.
Ideas?

If tires are what you would consider a mod, then dedicated summer/winter wheels/tires. A good summer tire will still 100x better then an all season tire will. As far as what I would do for mods, LS2 intake swap, headers/downpipe, hptuners. Those are your best bang for your buck mods.

^air in air out. If I was picking the top three (while not necessarily the best bang for the buck or easy) ls6 intake manifold, full exhaust (headers/no cats), and a dyno tune.
Now if you want 3 cheap/best bang. Shift kit, muffler delete, tune. People might be skeptical on the muffler delete and tune but I have muffler delete and a hand held diablo tune. I can slightly pull on one of my friends 6 speed altima ser with some work done. And he has slightly pulled on his other friends bone stock gxp. So I would imagine a dyno tune would make much more of a difference than hand held. Oh and get that dod turned off. Burns more oil than saves gas in my experience

Tires hand down should be a first if you want to go faster. Kinda hard to go fast when all your tires do is spin. Speaking of which looking for a wider rim that someone has experience with on 06mcss

What is the max width you can run on the stock gxp wheels? I believe I've seen 265s. Doubt 275s would fit

Tires... Continental Contisportcontact5 (stock size). AMAZING (on the front)... conti DW on the back. I am bone stock but nothing has held this thing like the contis. NOTHING. Not just for performance but my ride quality improved "dramastically" (hybrid word - dramatic and drastic combined - feel free to use).

I'm running Continental ControlContact Sports on mine. Not 100% impressed with them. Won't be using them again when it's time to replace. Discount Tire talked me into them as I wanted an all season and they claimed these were the best option they sold. Later found out it's a tire only available through Discount Tire so it's probably got a pretty good profit margin for them, and you can't price match as they are only ones who sell them.

I would agree with the tire recommendations above.
My picks that exclude tires would be strut tower braces, shiftkit, and dyno tune.
My tune deactivated DoD and really turned the car on. I went to Mike at New Era Performance.
I did the shift kit myself by following the stickied thread. The Strut tower braces are easy to put in as well.
