Default opinion on quick detailers?

So up here we get a crazy amount of bugs on summer nights. I use turtle wax bug and tar remover cause it works so well. I wash the car quite a bit but I don't always wax because I just don't always have the time. I've been seeing a lot of these quick detailers and quick wax sprays by both Mother's and Meguires.... what do you guys find works best between washes for getting light dirt, bugs, etc. off the front but will also help to boost the wax or at the very least not remove any of the existing wax?

I use wolfgang detail spray from autogeek.net, but any will work. Ive used manu brands, and not noticed a benifit over one to the other. The only thing i have a real preference on is buffing pads, sealant, and compound

So a quick detailer is fine instead of the spray wax?

Mothers sort of claims the spray wax is like a quick detailer... only with wax lol. But with so many similar products and vague descriptions I have no idea what I should get.

I love Zymol for a detail spray found at Walmart. Just a heads up, if you use a detail spray while there is dust/dirt on your car you will inflict fine scratches. I only use quick detailers after I wash. Either wash followed by a quick detailer or drive it dirty till you can wash it

I guess I probably shouldn't use a detail spray at all then. Thanks for the tip

I should of realised what you were describing lol. I actually already use mothers carnuba cleaner wax. Because I only wax at the beginning and end of summer, I'm sort of looking for a product or products that are good for removing fresh bugs, bird ****, etc. All the while restoring the wax on the front that would otherwise have come off from the removal of the bugs.

thats what a cleaner wax is, it has the cleaners mixed in with the carnuba wax and after your done leaves behind a waxed finish rather then a cleaner that strips the wax and then having to reapply.

While we're on the topic of detailing, what should I be using on the gxp rims? For shining up the outside and cleaning the inside where the thick layer of brake dust is.

See Larry's tips. Be aware that his spray wax is almost like a QD.

Mothers offers a good QD and quick wax. Meguiar's ultimate quik detailer and quik wax are top notch.
