Lets not get started in the diablowsports scam tunes. I have proof they only adjust timing outisde of an un obtainable air flow

After a full tune-up, clean the engine bay, use a pick and degreaser/brake cleaner to scour every corner and make it look like new. This is nearly free stuff you can do in spare time that helps you also learn about engines.
Then, you build the transmission. Converter/trans spend 3k~ don't get cheap. If you can't do that, you stop right there and spend what little you have on tires and 93, and oil changes, and paper filters. Keep the OEM filter, paper elements sacrifice some power for better filtration.
