Default Are all ls4s 05-09 the same? Need motor for my 09

Well the motor in my 09 impala ss is done. I found a 06 with low miles and I'm looking to purchase. my question is there any changes I need to make or would this be a direct swap? thanks

You cannot use that engine without swapping the reluctor wheel/crank and other items. It is much easier to just find an 07+ block that uses the same reluctor wheel and crank position sensor as your current engine.

For the most part yes. 08-09 are the exact same. 07 will work but the it has some slight variances compared to the 08-09 long locks. But the short block is the same.
