Places to jack up mcss
I've been using a hydraulic jack to jack the back of the monte up. But the frame dosnt look strong enough to support it. Does anyone else jack the back end up this way or do you use the sizzor jack that comes with it. The Front i just jack it up on the aluminum frame.

There is an arrow embedded in the rocker panel directing you to a metal fold that you are to use the stock jack on for the front & rear. I use the hydraulic jack there too...just make sure to not get too much of the rocker or you could crack it.

There is a spot between the front two tires and the rear two tires to jack it up. I do it in those spots and put it on jack stands. It beats jacking it up in all four corners.

There are pads about 1 foot inboard and 1 foot behind the front; 1 foot in front of the rear axle lines that I've used for the past 15 years to jack the cars up. They're part of the uni-body frame, big targets.
My jack won't work on the center points because of the ground effects.

jabronie...where is that point where you jack it up in the middle, and where do you put your jackstands? On the front, i always have a hard time getting the jackstands close to the corners w/o interfering with whatever repair i'm doing (i.e. swaybar install, brakes/rotors)

Buff,
Depending on what you are doing. . .i have had luck with two items for the front.
1) Jack the car up high enough to put a jack stand on the back of the engine cradle frame. I have a big craftsmen race jack which helps me lift the car way the hell up to do this.
2) Jack it from the front in the middle (make sure parking brake is on and rear wheels are chocked) and put a jack stand on each side in the front corners.
The back. . .I haven't found any real good places to put one.

Buff, if you look under the car in the front it's where the plastic brush guard ends, near the oil filter. It looks like it is aluminum.
If I just have to work on the front I just put the floor jack in the front middle and jack it up and just use the jack to hold the car up without stands. Granted I know it probably isn't that safe.
