stock RSA's
How many people here still run the stock Eagle RS-A's? The reason I'm asking is because I think they're crap and I really want to upgrade, however mine have lots of tread left plus I'm kinda broke so I may just keep them until they're worn. Tirerack has Eagle F1's for $190 right now which I'm looking at but I'm not sure. So I'm wondering for those that still have them, how do you like your RS-As, and for those with different tires which kind do you have and how do you like them? I need some tires with decent treadwear that can do good in the rain but still have decent dry traction. Ever since my tune I can't even go 3/4 throttle from a stop because the RS-As just can't take it!

I am running mine till the summer then I'll get better tires. Mine are practicly brand new and if I get something now I wont get any better traction in the rain and snow.

Mine have barely 28K on them and, although they show plenty of tread, are substandard in the wet and terrible in the snow. Not really keen on buying new tires every year, but I doubt these will make it another 1500 miles before I am fed up with them.

The RS-A is an all season tire, don't expect the world out of them...Not for nothing if they good for the cop cars they are good enough for me..I've hit some huge pot holes that should've killed them... I don't go around pushing my car to the limit like a maniac but for what they are they are quiet and durable and hold the road enough for what I do with them. For the track I got my M/T E-T Street Drag Radials. In persepective... I had Eagle F1 GS-D2's(Definately a summer tire) on my old '93 GP.Going up the Merit Parkway when a freak snow storm, more like a blizzard, came through and I had zero traction. I was going down the hill by Weston with the abs working and i was getting faster. other time I drove my old '94 Z28 Camaro up I-91 just north of New Haven same circumstances but I had RS-As in the front and BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS in the rear. Even with rear drive and that LT1 I had more control and confidence by far over my FWD GP with GS-D2's... What I'm saying is all snow belt people think about what you buy before you do. Because you are going to be fight the car when the snow falls... FYI Ebay is a great place for tires... Those GS-D2s I had I got for $300 Shipped 245 45 16. My red '92 in my sig has BF Goodrich Comp T/A ZR same size $200 shipped.

The stock tires were pretty good the first Winter, but now that they show about half worn, they are a lot less confidence inspiring. I will replace them with something else and see how that goes. The only reason I bought a fwd car is for the snow. Who knows, I may be buying OEM again time after that...

I cut a few 1.9 60's back when I had them. They're not the greatest tire or the worst but I feel they're too pricey for what they are. I never any problems in the rain with em can't comment on snow since they were always bald that time of year.
