Default CC306 1/8th times and dyno graph inside

Well I took the car to the tack last sunday and ran a new best with my PCMforless tune. The car was on 17x11 ZR1's with 40lbs of air in them, I left off idle and slightly bumped the 1-2 shift with the 4l60e shifting around 6800.

The best time was:
60': 2.032
E/T 8.178
MPH: 87.847

A couple of days later we dynoed the car and found that the A/F was DEAD ON for being a mail order but dynoed VERY low. Here is a shot of the best numbers put down. I have since had the shift points lowered to 6400 and had bryan fix the 1-2 issues. I would thing that should be good for a tenth or two alone.

Anyone have any input or opinions as to what they think about the time vs the dyno numbers? I think the car should atleast put down 345/340 with the 3500 converter. Maybe the timing is very conservative or something. This is a stock headed car with stock injectors, intake, tb, and fuel pump.

I think the car has 7.7x in it with a 1.6 60' on the ET streets...

The numbers don't match the times though. I just don't see it being that low on power and capable of 7's...

Those numbers seem pretty low for that cam. But who cares man, you almost breakin into 7's. Dyno numbers don't really mean anything. As long as it's running strong at the track.

how many dyno pulls where made? You said that was the 'best of them' as well? Maybe something wasn't setup right with with the dyno, but, then again, its a beefy cam on a stock head, intake, injector.... car. Was your cut out open?

dont sweat dyno numbers. They dont really mean anything. Track times are what matter. Esp. if that 3500 stall is loose. Id say get some tires and youll pull high 7's with out trying.

We made three pulls and they were all within 2-3hp...very consistant. If you look at the graph it was only readtin frommm 4.75k rpm and up also. Yes this was through an open cutout.

Seems like it would make more power, but the stall could be eating up more than you think. Like they stated, once you put a decent stall in them the dyno numbers mean far less than the track numbers.

As mentioned, screw the dyno numbers. Get some sticky tires to go with that converter, and your well into the 7's.

I like the 306 cam, If you are spinning at the track then the track times dont mean anything. Get it hooking and see what happens. And the dyno #'s seem about right for a cam only lt1 W/ a stalled auto. 330 through that tranny is pretty decent. I think 7.70's is definately possible.

you guys saying he has crappy dyno numbers have to realize:
1) ITS AN AUTOMATIC WITH A BIG STALL
2) as for torque #s, the graph is starting way after torque peak.

330 through an auto would probably be around 350 through a 6 speed, which is about on par with what a cc306 should make.

just a reduction in 60 foot to a 1.6x would drop your ET close to a 7.70.

also what do you have your rev limiter set at?

that would still make me a little disappointed with the low numbers, but if you are running those great times at the track who cares.'

mine is 269 RWHP and 335 RWTQ and im pulling 9.0 ET in a 1/8

I believe you will hit 7's

Don't worry about the dyno numbers, your track times show your car is makin power.

Yea.. I wouldn't really worry about Dyno Numbers..

I've never gotten my new Engine to Dyno right, kept having issues with the Dyno. It only put down 412/400 on the Dyno..and it pulled 11.19@120.4 in the 1/4 Mile, 1.56 60'.
Yea somethings off..lol

I wouldnt worry it MPHs good. Dynos and A4s dont mix, your trap speed is good though.

I say that they match pretty well. My car makes about 320-330 and I run 8.2-8.3 @ 87mph. Though mine is with a stock stall, but your 60's are just a little worse than mine.

You're graph isn't very pretty. Some good dyno tuning may help, but you're running stock heads and a stock TB. Peak power is about as high as it's gonna get. If you were going to buy anything else for the car, I would start with the TB. Someone used to ported the stock ones up to 52 for pretty cheap. Though, that's been at least 5 years since I've seen that.... Wait, just found a ported stocker on eBay for cheap.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-97...mZ260297429359

And you're running some of the heaviest wheels you can put on these cars. Get a good drag wheel/skinny and some drag radials and you should easily go 7.5-7.6 with the power that you're making right now.

What does that car weigh? What was the weather (DA) when you ran those times? Any suspension?

See this scares me about going with a bigger cam. I run 8.1-8.2 with my hotcam with stock untouched heads hooking up alright but still lots of room to improve with a small stall and a 1.9 60ft with 85mph. I think some heads and sticky tires will turn your set up around.
