Hello,

The tunnel mounted torque arms are shorter style torque arms that mount in the tunnel area of the vehicle approxiametly 12" behind the transmission. The shorter arms work very well on high horse-power vehicles to transfer weight and plant the rear end into the ground. Here is a picture of a tunnel mounted torque arm installed- http://www.umiperformance.com/images/2203e.jpg

A transmission mounted torque arm bolts into the exact location of the factory torque arm... they are longer then the tunnel mounted arms and work better in handling applications. Here is a picture of a transmission mounted torque arm installed- http://www.umiperformance.com/images/2205f.jpg

I can go into more detail if needed... just let me know. You can also give us a call at 814-857-5400 and speak with a tech rep.... they can offer some very valuable information over the phone.

Thank you!
Ryan

Default I just put this TA on my car

Just finished bolting the longer trans mounted version of the UMI TA on my car, brief ride this Am sounds same as stock, seems to be a bit more initial bite less wheel spin when gassin it hard, and it was cold this AM which usually equals wheel spin, very easy to put on definately a heavy duty piece, I have to do some investigation about setting the angle since I bought the adjustable version but I am planning a trans swap so I also bought the trans cross member from them which moves the TA attachement point so I will do that afterward and see what happens then...
