Default NEW CAMARO! (new to me that is)

I am looking at a 1997 30th Anniversary SS Camaro at a dealership. I am not so much concerned about he price as I am the car..I want a 97 SS and they are impossible to find up here in Wyoming. So here is what I dug up, opinions please? I need to know what 3/4 of this stuff means because some of it seems unfamiliar to me. Anyone who can elaborate it would be much appreciated. I am buying the car for 8,000.

It has Cruise Control, Keyless Entry, Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, T-Tops, Power Seats, Black Leather Interior, Chrome ZR1 Rims, ABS, AC, Anti-Theft, CD Player, etc etc etc. It is a true SS that has never been wrecked. It has 122,000 miles which I know is a lot, but its on a new engine within the last year or so.

A few of the mods I actually understand and know what they are/what they do are listed below just to let you know what its got...

Hurst 6 Speed
Dynomax Ultra Flow Exhaust
160 Degree Thermostat
Dynatech Long Tube Headers with Custom 3" Y-Pipe
March underdrive pulleys
BMR Strut Tower Brace
Eibach Lower Control Arms and Panhard Rod
BMR Boxed Subframe Connectors

I understand all of the stuff above, but here are the mods to the car that I dont know about of what they mean...

MSD 6AL Ignition System and Harnesses
Crane Cams Gold Race 1.6 Roller Rockers
AFR/TPIS Heads (2.02 Intake, 1.65 Exhaust)
TPIS Throttle Body
TPIS Airfoil
TPIS Programmed Computer
Throttle Body by-pass
DNK Racing Clutch Replacement
Jasper Overbored Short Block

If any of you know what this stuff is and can fill me in on things like reputation, performance increases, durability, compatibility, etc then please do. I wanna make sure I am getting something descent...

ant these are just the mods I KNOW of...there are more but I have to find what exactly they are...I know it has a high lift cam in the trunk because for the dealer to pass it on emissions in Denver so they could sell it they had to put the stock cam back in it and add 3 CAT's...the old cam comes with the sale...specs on the way

seems like an ok deal to me. the MSD is the ignition system. has 1.6 rockers on it. aftermarket cylinder heads. TPIS throttle body and airfoil (a peice to help direct airflow inthe the throttle body) and a tuned computer for the throttle body stuff. throttle body bypass is a "free" mod to change flow of coolant. gos back to the block instead of goin through the TB to help cool the engine more if i am not mistaken. has a new clutch. and it looks like it has a bored over engine block.

Looks like a nice car. If you don't mind the price, pick it up. I would still at least try to get them to move some.

Nice clean car. What's the Wire going across the Engine infront of the Alternator?

I'd put that under the Radiator Support ontop of the Radiator itself, that way it's hidden, and it won't run onto the Alternator and get ripped up.

MSD 6AL Ignition System and Harnesses - Better ignition system.
Crane Cams Gold Race 1.6 Roller Rockers - Were most likely installed when the cam was put in. They help give a cam more lift, which equals more power.
AFR/TPIS Heads (2.02 Intake, 1.65 Exhaust) - Aftermarket heads, I don't know much about these.
TPIS Throttle Body - Better throttle body.
TPIS Airfoil - Helps direct air into the throttle body.
TPIS Programmed Computer - Tune.
Throttle Body by-pass - Free mod good for about 3hp.
DNK Racing Clutch Replacement - Racing clutch. Obviously.
Jasper Overbored Short Block - Block has been bored. 355 maybe?

Hopefully that helps somewhat.

Looks like a nice SS, with whats done to it seems like a good deal.

On another note for 8 grand I would buy a M6 LS1 SS, they are cheap out here. I found one selling for 6 grand with 120K miles.

Agreed, but I have found that LS1 SS's are easier to find...that and the CAR has 120K.......the engine has maybe 1000K tops...plus how far are you from Wyoming? This one is 45 miles away from me lol. The only one within about 100 miles. I cant go too far away and wouldnt buy the car if I cant see it. I'm air force and cant just fly somewhere lol.
