Default hypertech

Has anyone ever used one of the early power programmers,with the car on front and just yes and no buttons?I need to know if they set the rev limit and shift points?I know the plus and programmer 3 do.

How early are you talking? Mine only had Y/N, but it was called a Plus. I guess if it only had a blow up car/don't blow up car, then it is before mine.

Mine was the II, it had Y/N & up/down bottons, if you wanted to take the perf. tune out, it would take all of it out includeing your settings, everything went back too stock, but i've heard the III will give you the option to keep your settings, tires/gears/fans ect. & take out the perf. tune if wanted.

The one I had had Y/N and up down and allow you to change up whatever you want. rev limiter,shift points, tire height, gear changes, fan settings, mph limiter. power tuning
You dont have to use the power tuning option. I think they are great for adjusting paramiters while your still modding the car. Untill you need a mail order or dyno tune.

just go mail order tune i had the hypertech and not long after my tranny went because of the hypertech shift firmness on a old tranny doesnt help things!

any electronic shift kit will kill a trans faster than a real shift kit. Electronic is not the correct way but it does work.
