Default Temp gauge randomly spikes after new radiator.

Just put in a brand new GM radiator. Now when I drive the car the temperature gauge goes back and forth quickly. It will do this once and a while then go back to reading the normal operating temp. Any ideas what is causing this?

Try bleeding the coolant. It could be an air pocket causing a hot spot in the head where the sending unit is.

That or a faulty connection on the sending unit.
