another cam question

k guys i have a question about a cam i have. i have a comp cam 08-502-08 which is the gen 1 version of hte 07-502-08. is the only diff between the 2 cams the length of the dowel pin to run the opti? if so can i just change the dowel pin out? thanks

I know that on cams made for the lt1s you can change the dowel pin for whichever opti you have. Im not sure on a cam made for the first gen motors though.
