Default obdII swap for obdI

I have a 97 TA and can't tune it with obdII. I have heard of people swapping to obdI. Has anyone done it or know what all it takes. THANKS

I went OBDI due to the cheap/free tuning software mainly. All you have to do is get a service number 16188051 94-95 LT1 PCM and tune it of have it tuned for your setup.

EDIT: You also need a 93-95 knock sensor or it will set an error code 43.

OBDI swap in my Impala. I ended up buying an OBDI from the Impala forum then selling my II for someone else to do the swap once I knew my new one was going to work out.

I kinda did it... the hard way but I wanted to go from a Camaro to a Firebird. I went from a 96 Z to a 94 Form. I changed the Knock Sensor and the Coil just to be safe and its doing fine. (Had some ground issues originally)

But what they have told you should work great, good luck I am very happy with OBDI right now but then that MadZ28 Tune has something to do with it lol.

You can tune your obd2 lt1. You have to buy the jet dst, then go to westers garage and down load thier ecm pro scan/log software. Total cost for this package is 545.00, but the jet dst will tune all obd2 vehicles not just lt1 f-bodies. It comes with two licenses, so get a buddy to go 1/2 with ya!

I did the OBDI conversion, I kept the same plug under the dash. When purchasing a cable, you will want one with OBDII plug end. All else needed as already been stated. PM me if you have any questions.
