Default Pros and cons of a tubular k-member

I am getting ready to do my engine swap, in a week or two, and was curious if a tubular k-member is something I should go to?

The car is NOT going to be a race car.

Should I worry about it or not?

If you're planning on getting one then now would be the time. If not, they aren't cheap so I wouldn't bother. The big pro is weight savings.

if your not trying to reduce weight then its waste of money, but the pro's are weight reduction, clearance for exhaust piping (turbo)..and it looks cool !..Save ur money and put it towards the motor !

They aren't as strong as the Stock K-Member. I've had enough **** happen to where that thing helps.

I'm installing a tubular K-member but it is for exhaust clearance. Otherwise I would have kept the stock one.

well, my buddy has a aftermarket one on his third gen.....

and it HANGS LOW I dont know how the 4th gen ones hang, but holy crap.....its rediculous....and on top of that, the car has lowering springs.....its nuts.

no speed bumps for him.....curbs are a stuggle. gotta hit em on a angle. he is gonna need to keep some blocks of wood in his car. incase he has to go over somthin

ground clearance problems are definitely common with the thirdgens. i dont know if it is with the fourth gens though.

I have a UMI k-member. I did it when I swapped the motor. I didn't have a need for it but, had the money burning a hole so, I got it. It has better clearances now than compared to stock. There's easier access to pieces/parts from under the motor.

I can actually reach my header bolts, plug wires and change plugs now.
Clearance is a HUGE advantage IMHO.

For all of the times that fat stocker got in my way, it was money well spent.
