Sealed power gasket kit???
I was just curious if anyone has used the sealed power full engine gasket kit offered by Summit. I am in need of a kit and was looking to save a few bucks but am not willing to sacrifice quality so any input would be appreciated. I will copy and paste the link...

Do yourself a favor while you're in there doing gaskets. Buy the Percy's header gaskets, the aluminum re-usable four layer ones for your headers. You'll thank yourself later.

I have always had an issue with getting headers to seal a different gasket makes sense. I have tried the copper ones and they are garbage, I would like a little bit more feedback on the percy's...how many ppl have had good luck with them and where can I get a good deal on them?? Any replies would be appreciated, thanks.

I used the sealed power complete gasket and re-ring set back in July on my 94 LT1. No problems so far. BTW the felpro gasket is a little thinner than stock so it will raise your compression slightly.
Here are the specs on some available head gaskets:
.051 - Stock
.039 - Felpro
.028 - GM "Impala"
.026 - Mr Gasket

Thanks for the help I am glad you brought up the whole head gasket situation. I am counting on my heads not needing any decking as they have so few miles on them (40,000) I was concerned about a thinner head gasket changing the geometry and then requiring me to shorten the pushrods, does anyone know how much of a change in head gasket thickness(with no head decking) would warrant a change in pushrod length to get the correct geometry???

When ya'll change head gaskets do ya'll buy new head bolts or reuse them? I've never done them on an LT1. At work I've done over 50 head gaskets in the last 5 yrs and about 90% of the time we use new bolts. Just curious

I know from personal experience that 94 are Not torque to yield. I believe it is 95 and up. although a set of head bolts from autozone are cheap. ARP would be your best bet though. Personally I reused the stock bolts because I was cheap.

Thanks Fergy that's what i thought. another question and I'll quit hijacking. R thinner head gaskets considered a bolt-on or does bolt-on only mean the motors never been opened up that far?
