Default Clutch line drill mod needed for LT1?

I understand that the LS1 guys do this. Is there any benefit for us LT1 guys?

Is there a restriction in the Line that comes out of the Master Cylinder?

1/32 of an inch..something like that. I drilled it out to a 1/8" hole, that is what the writeup says for the LS1 Mod.

I measured the first LT1 I did at under .062

Opened it up to .120. It is about 1/2in to 3/4in inside the the Line at the master.

It restricks flow when you push the pedel real fast. It also controls fast clutch release. This is part of what will make a clutch burn on a drop. it is still being controled on the release instead of a fast drop

Sounds like a good mod.

Okay I have my LT1 flexible line removed now. There appears to be a restriction on the MC end but not on the fitting surface, it is down in the hole about 1" deep or so. In fact I can barely fit a 1/16th drill bit in this hole. The 1/8" drill bit will fit in the upper portion as shown in the above photo, but stops about 1" into the fitting.

Cant tell anything on the SC end do to the right angle fitting.

Is this indeed a similar restriction like the LS1 flexible line?
Should I run the 1/8" drill bit in and open it up?

Done did.
Ran the 1/8" and drilled out the restriction. It was very small and did not take much to go through it. I doubt my inches will really miss it.

So for all those who have wondered, does the LT1 clutch line have a restriction like the LS1 guys have? Yup. You just have to look down in the larger hole on the MC fitting to see it .
