Default I'm scared...

I raced a 350Z last night. It looked modded, but still stock looking. The exhaust looked aftermarket. But I'm scared because from 30-100 he pulled a car or more. He totally took my Launch out of the equation, which is my strong point. I was feeling good after clinging to an LS2 goat so well, but now I LOSE to a VQ!? I don't know anything about them really, but I just thought my car should have trounced it. He was either really well modded or my car is slow as *****.

I'm going to the track this friday and it's my first time out since I've started modding my car.

It's also the first time out on DRs.

I've got:
OEM ram air intake (non WS6 car)
MadZ tune
3.42s (from 2.73s)
Cutout
3200 stall and performabuilt stage 2 tranny.

What is my car capable of? I'm hoping for a 13.2-13.4 but I'm expecting much worse now.

Can you calm my nerves somehow!?

i think with ur mods you should be trapping around what you think you will be with a good launch and as long as your tires stick and dont spin. I know those 350z's are pretty quick. A stock one runs low 14's i believe but im not positive. I know my buddy with a 91 z28 beat one barely when he was running 13.8 and the one he raced had exhaust. Who knows what was dont to that car. Dont feel too bad.

He must have some work done because I raped one of them in a '95 5.0 with boltons and a e303 cam, the car was a mid 13 sec. car.

Your pretty much on with what you think it will run.

Saw one with a few mods turn high 14s at the track! My bro had a 2005 and My Formula would have spanked it.
My guess is it was alot more modded than you think. Spray or turbos

I've worked one before so I know they are not that fast. This one had to be modded, but I still feel like my car is pathetic unless he was spraying.

You're running with the stock exhaust manifolds? Cut out or not, your exhaust is pretty much a bottleneck. It's equally important to get air out as it is to get air into the engine.

Hmmm, no cam, head/intake/TB work or bigger injectors, I'll say you'll hit right around 14 in the quarter.

Headers and a 150 shot should wake up your car a little.

You must be joking. I'm not at 20,000 feet.

I did about 14.3 with a missfire, 2.60 final drive ratio (after the tires), a bad O2, and in June in Az.

If what I've done since then PLUS DRs only gets me 3 tenths, I'll sell this car for scrap.

Look at his times though...lol

I'd say a mid 13 is within your grasp, you really need to put some longtubes on her

I don't know if I'll go longtubes or a 150 shot first. It's one or the other though. (probably)

The way I went with the last car was similar to what I have, then went to nitrous, then sold it and went headers and eventually a cam. That's kinda my path right now. Have fun with nitrous, then get sick of it, sell it and make the car do it N/A.

That 350Z must have had some mods, when I had my LT1 I would murder them.

Lets see what you do at the Track, LT Headers will be a good upgrade though.

From what I've heard the newer 350Z's are faster than the old ones, you could have run into one of those. I know when my car was running they weren't even a race.

I think your pretty much spot on with a mid to low 13 second pass.

My 94 Formula had a CAI, PS LT's, ORY, and a Hooker 3" Catback, Bald Nitto DR's, LCA's, PHB, and 3.42's and a shitty tune. Hell it went 13.6 @ 103 mph and it was running rich and loading up at idle! Good Luck!
And the other guy must have had some things done to it in order to beat your car!

My money says 13.6 at 98 mph. I say this because you pretty much have a stock car with a stronger trans and somewhat better gears. Just my .02
