putting cam in this weekend: need advise
I have pretty much all the parts I need to do my cam swap this weekend, with the exception of pushrods and rocker arms.
I am doing a very mild cam swap using the comp cam cc07-500-8. I also purchased the comp cam valve spring set (retainers, keepers), lifters, timing chain set, valve covers (w/alt clearence), intake mainifold (58mm ported), 58mm throttle body, and of course all the gaskets, pullers and oil.
My question is, are these comp cam high enery pushrods (7.195" length/5/16" diameter) the right ones for my 96' LT1? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COMP-...QQcmdZViewItem
Also these rocker arms? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COMP-...8986QQtcZphoto
Will those rockers clear my valve covers? And are those valve guides pictured?

but if you get the non self aligning rockers youd need guideplates

Roller tip is pointless.
I would not bother replacing the pushrods with such a small cam unless you do use non-SA rockers and guideplates and then I would only replae the pushrods because of the guideplates.
I put a ZZ4 cam in my car at one point, was a little bigger than the cam you are looking to do, and even in this big whale of a car with 1650 stall and 2.93s it was fine, mistaken for stock by most folks who were around the car. After my experiance with that I think the Crane 227(210/224) is the smallest cam worth the effort to swap in. Like I said this is based on my experiance and that is with a car that would be much more sensitive to cam size.

I decided to go with this cam because it does not require the computer to be flashed (summit tech told me). I am building this car while I am in school, so I want to be able to do all the work myself in my garage. I figured I would replace all preventive maintence parts, so I bought these parts today and like said before the lifters, springs and such. I am pretty much giving the engine a nice tune up
