Got the opportunity to run an early 80s cobra I think. It had the hood and everything. He got next to me and was staring over. Before the light turned green he was lunging forward ready to go. I figured OK, there's nobody around I'm game.

At green he eases into it and I just kinda hang at his door waiting. Then I hear him get on it. I cranked it all the way up to 1/2 throttle in first real quick and pulled 2 cars on him and cruised away until the dreaded fly by.

Next light we hit it again. This time he isn't looking over. He's ALL business. I see he's ready to go. At green he goes and gets a little wheel spin. I go pretty easy through first and when I hit second I go to about 70% throttle and pull a quick 3 buslengths and this is NOT an exaggeration. Hit third and pull about 3 more. A half mile down the road he catches up and passes me. Still not looking over. Oh well.

I don't know what he was thinking. What made him think he could take me? What made him think after round one that he had ANY chance? Some people are nuts.

I don't think they made a Cobra until 1993, prolly just a plain jane 5.slow. Anyways, nice kill.

Silly ford owners....I raced a '95 Cobra with heads/cam and a Vortech and did a whooping on him and this was before heads. I dunno what that dude was thinking those early 80's 4 eye Cobra's are garbage.

Crap. 13.80@98.7 with a terrible 2.0 60'

I can't really complain as the weather was not good at all. And my best 60' was 1.92, but I was heatsoaked and temps were still above 80 and DA was 2850'
I still believe this thing has 13.2-13.3 in it with a perfect night and with an actual cool down. My third run my car was damn near overheating.

An LS2 GTO was running 14.1@100.7
A mildly modded LS1 Camaro was running mid-high 13s@103
A Heads/Cam LS1 was running 13.4s@108

I must tell you guys, this race was on my R6. I couldn't handle a car THAT easily with literally only 1/2 throttle.

Thats not bad at all man, i'd say pretty friggin respectable. AZ def doesnt have the best DA not the worst either but it could be better.

if i woulda had the cash i woulda went but getting my poly mounts put on drained my account! maybe this weekend once i get paid ill head over to one of the tracks.

I'm going again before I put on the headers. I want LOW 13s before I add anything else. I used to spend about 6 or so hours at the track, this time I was home by 7:45 Track didn't allow runs until almost 7 i think. I didn't give it my all. I was too repulsed and disappointed to continue.

I also did some NHRA adjustments for DA and such just to see and it would have been a 13.4@101 with a 2.0 60' So I can't hate my car too much.

I really wish I had a sea level cold track around here.

nice kill lol its takes a 5.0 with H/C/I setup to make about what our cars make just about stock lol but the 4 eyes look best IMO Here's a pic of the car I used to own:

Was your 4 eye notch or hatch? I was trying to get a 4 eye notch for years they are hard to find for cheap. Heres a pic that made me fall in love with them. These cars only weigh around 3,000 lbs or less.

It was a hatch, but i sooo wish it was a notch... they are just sexy lol they are starting to get rare and the prices are going up. I sold mine for a good amount

I didn't cheat! And if I went full throttle on that bastard I'd have been home before he hit 60!

I went 50% throttle against a carolla S once. It was in my low 13 second GTP and I would stomp on the throttle and let off, stomp let off, stomp let off. He almost pulled me!
