Intake questions? Help
So is a Super Vic intake conversion really worth it. I would like to put my stock hood back on the car but dont think it will clear it.
Will all the LT4 INTAKE GUYS makin over 450rwhp please STAND UP?
If the LT4 INTAKE can make plenty o power I will just use it.
Oh this is on a 383 with ported trickflows

If the trickflows are not LT4 I don't believe they will lineup with the LT4 intake as the LT4 intake as longer runners. Just have your stock one ported out as it will be much cheaper and will flow better. Plenty of threads here about the differences and guys have put down 600+ HP on the stock/ported intake. Do a search!!!
Waste of money to buy the LT4 intake itself. That little bit of extra port hight isn't really going to gain that much. While you can't exactly port the stock intake that high, you can take a little bit off, but the heads being ported will make much more of a difference (I'm referring to stock heads) vs getting the LT4 and making the ports match. That LT4 is really the same intake as the LT1, and the stock LT1 intake can make quite a bit of power. Depending how you go, NA or Forced, you can easily get over 500hp forced and I think NA you can make 500 and have a bit more that can be made through it. Apparently though, the forced setups really like the factory intake!

The VIC will make more power, but that power will be up high with a loss down low.
The guys who are using it successfully are the same ones who are running
very large cams and spinning their motors well outside of what you'd see in a street car.
I seriously considered one for my new motor, but I just don't see the gains being worth the spend.
Ray @ Nitrousoutlet had a great idea in having heads drilled to accept SBC manifolds.
That sure cuts down on the cost to make one work.
And don't waste your time with the Lt4 intake.
Port the stocker, match the porting to your trickflows and call it good.

Goin with the Lt4 INTAKE
The trickflow heads are lt4 heads that have been ported. I made the decision to go with the LT4 intake instead of the Super Vic because of cost and I think I wanna put the stock WS-6 ram air hood back on the car. Here it is with the predator.
Oh and James thanks for your participation in all my build threads your efforts to help me are greatly appreciated. However I am never having a motor built again I am doin it by myself
Whatever you think the budget is going to be for the build mutiply it by 1.5 and that will be the end cost. F**K

I think the people that benifit from the singleplane the most are guys spinning the motor over 6500.I also think its way better for people that use n2o as the flow is much more even.I found when I had the stock intake the plugs would read different from front to back but now with the super vic they all read exactly the same
I am using the stock z28 hood still however the t.b contacts the hood when it is shut but no biggie

Moe is the man. I was saving up for your D1 kit and my stock shortblock spun a rod bearing on the spray back in April so now I had to dump money in this 383. I have spoken to you on the phone. 1 day I will go forced induction but I had to get the car runnin and nitrous is lil easier on my pockets.

Has anyone tried to convert a different manifold for a bit lower of an RPM band? Say a Performer RPM with the throttle body elbow? I have never heard of anyone doing so I am sure there is a reason why.
