SS3600 vs PY3400???

SS3600 vs PY3400???
I purchased a PY3400 from Dave at Yank and was assured that this was going to be a good matchup for my setup but everyone recommends the SS3600. I looked on the website and it PY3400 is for nitrous or blown applications but what exactly does that mean?? What is the difference between the two converters and how will this thing act just H/C, longtubes, and a couple other bolt ons?

Well, the PY flashes to about 3500 and the SS flashed to about 4000. But they drive aroud town about the same.if you plan to spray your car I would run a PY, but for NA I would run a SS or PT

PY has a lower STR, which is going to make for softer launches (VS the SS)
(That also leads to less "slip" at the top end)
PY appears to have more mounting lugs, to handle the TQ burst of an N20 setup.
PY is physically 13mm (1/2") larger in diameter.
The point of a big STR and hard launches is that you give up a little up top, but the gains of your rocket-launch
off the line makes up for it and then some If you were building a street car with limited track time, the PY may
very well have been the best choice.

if ur not spraying her or FI in the future i personally would go with the SS3600, i have it with barely 300rwhp and i love it on the street and track....
all i meant was hes a busy guy and when i called i could tell he was pressed for time.... i believe it is good to talk to him about it but also know or kinda know which one ur aiming at... IMO.... nothing to take away from Yank they are the best...

Thanks for all of your responses guys, I bought the converter directly from yank basically over the phone (it was used but was there for a rebuild when I picked it up) I had a pretty lengthy conversation with dave about it and you guys are absolutely right...the man know his torque converters and his customer service is second to none. The only reason I posted this thread is because most (if not all) recomendations for a yank torque converter usually ends with ss3600. I was just looking to get some feedback from people that have used this converter or know more about it than I do to get a little more info on it. If it was a new converter I am sure dave probably would have sold me something else but it seemed to be a good fit and I couldn't beat the price so I went with it and now your guys' comments just reassured me that I didn't make a costly mistake, thanks!

I am just waiitng on some gaskets I will let everyone know how it runs. From the look of it I went with a bit of an unorthodox build with the Lunati cam and the PY...not too many ppl go with this set up but for the amount of research I have done on the subject I feel pretty confident. I will post some numbers as soon as I get it to they dyno.
