Default Shakedown runs with cc306 + full bolt-ons

Finally got some shakedown runs with this new car. Since it was my 1st time driving a 6-speed, I decided to get some seat time before I put the slicks/skinnies on the car. Didn't really know how the car would run since I was on 16" street tires, but wanted to see what it would trap.

The other time I was able to race, the car spun real bad through 1st and decided not to beat on the car so I just cruised to an 18.8@60mph LOL!!!!

Mods:

cc306
1.6rr's
4.10's
cai
LT's + ORY + bullet
52mm TB w/air-foil
underdrive pulley
e-pump
stock injectors & fuel pump
weight reduction

Launched at 1900rpm, spun a little and bogged but still came out hard. Ran a friends bolt-on LS1 and chased him down near the 1/8. He ran 12.8@110 with the same 60ft.

Best time:
60ft...... 2.0
1/8th.... 8.37@88.5mph
1/4mi.... 12.7@114mph

Car developed a miss after the 1st pass which I think is cuz the plugs fouled out. Im getting some injectors/pump, ported intake, and tuning soon; should see 11's on slicks....well if the rear holds up.

looks like it has some good potential with traction ..congrats

I would almost bet you burned a plug wire and the cause for your miss..too common for LT1's.

Thats about right, 114-115MPH is what it should trap with those mods in that set up. Good job, with a better sixty foot, I'm sure that car would be atleast in the bottom 12s high 11s no problem.

Im hoping I can cut at least a 1.8 60ft on some slicks, which should put me in the low 12's at least. I really need to get some more practice before I put the stickies on, the whole car shakes when I get off the clutch. I can't imagine what its gonna feel like with a good tire and a more aggressive launch. Stock clutch or 10-bolt is gonna go....LOL!

Not bad for a shake down. I got my car down to 8.1x's @88 w/2.0 60' on my street tires. I am pretty sure my car has 7.6's in it with a 1.6 60' on slicks with some more tuning considering I was shifting at 6900 and the power falls off at 6450ish.

^People say that the 306 is too big?

Very nice runs! That thing will be low 12's for sure on slicks.

The cam felt lazy in a friends 97 Z which was full weight and a 3600rpm stall. I was never a fan of it, but my car is very light and the 6-speed/4.10 combo makes it very fun to drive.

Thanks guys, hoping to get the car back to the track once the track opens again.

Sounds good, my car with similar mods, 847 cam, stock WP and pulleys though and no weight reduction did 12.6 @ 113mph on a 2.0 60'.

Yes. A LOT. That and the 847 are constantly criticized for being too big for a stock headed/stock bottom end car.

Your moving there pretty good. If it were a decent size stalled auto that thing would probaly be hitting high 11's. Once you get them 60's down you should be low 12's cam only!
