Default Tuning Question.. please help

I have a 93z28 A4.. i just bought this car and the previous owner said that he used a programmer and added 30 hp.. just like everyone else who has no clue... but anyways it seems to idle very low.. like 300 to 500 rpm with it in gear.. maybe is normal but im used to a m6... i "tuned" my M6 with pcm for less, and i have the mods in my sig... but as you know i did this with a piggy back chip.. sorry to ramble but is there anyway to tune without a piggyback.. and if there is.. is there anyway to reflash the computer to go back to factory settings..
thanks for the help

You need to use either a chip burner+piggyback setup or an emulator to tune the 93s...unless you want to tear down your factory chip, desolder the stock PROM, and whip out the UV Eraser 1980's style and wait 5 mins to erase it every change.

Easiest way is to get the emulator for the piggybacked chip so it can be tuned live like the 94+.

Less expensive but still easy is to get a USB chip burner and run an aftermarket chip on a piggyback. You can then erase/reprogram the chips almost instantly, but you have to remove the chip from the car everytime you make a change.

ok so a "plug and play" tuner is out of the question then?

Yep, the factory chips are not electronically flashable

Check the IAT sensor for a tacky seemingly hollow plastic box between it and the connector. Sadly, it is pretty common for people to sell a "resistor in a box" for like 50 bucks that tricks the IAT into thinking the air is cooler then it is, making the already rich LT1 run even more rich.

Besides the fact that it does not make any power(actually would make less power), it is literally just a resistor worth a fraction of a cent ran inline with the IAT signal wire .
