Default What exhaust to run?

I need a catback that isn't too loud for my setup. I had slp lm1's and it was dumb how loud it was haha. So I'm lookin for something that flows pretty well and sounds nice.. I am not looking to spend alot of money. Might even look into buying a used system. But anyways. What do you guys think?

My 80 series flowmaster just doesn't do it for me. The custom job I had to do to make it all work out was just for temporary..

Hooker aerochamber
Magnaflow
Borla
Keep the flowmaster
Other..

I've only heard the aerochamber once and liked it, but don't know how loud it is and how it runs. I don't like how the flowmaster seems like it gets quieter as the rpm's go up.. I'm very open for suggestions and more than likely I'll be running an electric cutout along with w/e catback I end up getting..

Maybe try a custom setup. Like a Borla XR1 on the I-pipe, then y it off to dual tailpipes. I'd basically be like a Borlamouth setup, like you see some people do.

Haha, I have the LM II exhaust, believe me you don't want that! I like the loudness personally but its what you want man.

I'd say go with Magnaflow.. Cheap and flows good.. Kinda quiet though..

the guy who owned my car before me had a Flowmaster and I hated it because it was SO restrictive even being a 3"

Borla is also another quality catback exhaust with good sound, but probably a bit louder than you want considering you think a LM 1 is extreme

I have Pacesetter longtubes, with true dual magnaflows (3inch) and I love the sound. I do not think its to loud myself, its not quiet, but its definently is not a loudmouth lol. Has a really nice sound like I said. Hard to explane.

i went from LM1 to LM2 and just installed a magnaflow,
the magnaflow is not as "quiet" as i hoped but my mods keep it that way.
i actually feel like i gain some power with the magnaflow and, i can hear my stereo now.

out of your choices i would have to say Aero Chamber or Magnaflow...but if your willing to spend the money for a borla if it comes to that...then save up some more and get a GMMG instead you wont be disappointed...but if your on a budget Magnaflow for sure...good idle and good tone for daily driving and loud at WOT just how it should be...good luck with your decision! if your having a hard time youtube diff. sound clips of diff exhaust setups...thats how i made my decision on what i wanna run...just have to save the money first.

Default Magnaflow

For the price, and the stainless steel, Id go with Magnaflow. Hooker, Edlebrock, and Flowmaster are all alumunized steel, which means they will rust! and as the former owner of a Third Gen Firebird, I HATE RUST!

for the price, magnaflow is hard to beat, very very nice quality and fitment. It's not my favorite as far as sound goes but it sounds good. Now my favorites are definitely GMMG and Borla

Well, for now I have it narrowed down to magnaflow, aerochamber, and gmmg. For the guy who said I thought the lm1 was too loud, i meant the cops thought it was too loud. Isn't gmmg pretty damn loud too though with headers and an ORY? I like magnaflow because they are cheap/good quality and I like aerochamber for their uniqueness..

Anybody have any good clips with headers, ORY into a "muffler" they suggest? And now that my y pipe goes to where ls1 exhausts are shouldn't I look at the ls1 exhaust sections when looking to buy? (if that makes sense?)

I'll be doing alot of searching on youtube here these next couple of days..

I chose Magnaflow. Ive gotten more compliments on the way my car sounds with this system, then I did with the $900 Corsa system I had on the car before. Magnaflow is real deep, and has a great sound. You cant go wrong. Im actually going to put mine up for sale to get the dual tip system to fill in the valances of the Trans Am bumper. If your interested in mine, shoot me a PM.

Thanks guys, seems like magnaflows really wake up with a headers.. But still not ridiculous. And REALLY wakes up at wide open.

BTW your car sounds nice
