Default Second time at track w/ Cadillac Cam!!!!

So guys i know i just posted last week about my first time at the track, well i decided to go again this weekend so i could finally get a run in with my long tubes finally on, 1LE elbow, Air foil, and re-tune and heated DR's.

so to get to the chase here is my best run:
60':2.200
1/8 mile: 8.723 MPH: 83.021
1/4 mile: 13.464 MPH: 103.786

that is my current best time with all the mods i have right now.

yes i am on the stock stall converter, and yes i know i need a bigger stall! haha but i'd say thats a respectable time, considering i was getting wheel hop kinda bad.

so next mods are :LCA's, SFC's, and a Torque Arm, Edge Racing Stall 3200-3600 not sure yet, and most likely LS1 torsen rear end with 3.42's, if not then 3.73's.

Thanks for reading!

w/ a cam and full bolt ons you are way down on power. You should be running faster than 103..With just exhaust, gears, and water pump I'm running 104 in shitty weather (90% humidity and 90+ degrees) on street tires

i'm A4 dude, and if i use the DA correction tool on Dragtimes.com at Sea level that would have been a 13.003 pass, not too bad if you ask me, and my tranny does need a refresh and new stall, and im sure the gears help you as well cause im on 3.23's.

and its just a baby cam 212-219

With that cam, don't go too wild on the converter. I'm thinking 3200 is probably at the upper limit you'd want to use. A transmission fluid cooler would also be a worthwhile investment.
If you're going to make a gear change, you might as well go with the 3.73s. Going 3.23 to 3.42 isn't much of a jump.

yea i was thinking 3200 is the highest i'd want to go, and i am def adding an aftermarket tranny cooler.

and gear depends if i keep mine or goto LS1 Torsen Rear with 3.42's cause i dont want my highway to get killed alot.

but who knows i might end up just going with 3.73's as i do want the most gain possible.

3.73's bro!! Their not that bad on the hwy. 3.42's IMO would be a waste of time and money. As far as a stall you would be ok with the Yank SS3600 for a DD. You should call and talk with them over at Yank. I know it sounds high but there are several guys running them on their daily drivers and some have even considered going a little bigger after driving with them. You should check out Stealthformulas video with that stall.

ok location has alot to do with this, i would have been 13.003 at a sea level track, also i dont have a cut out, or EWP, i'm A4 STOCK STALL!!!, and am running a Y pipe to a single flowmaster 80 series, and my 60' was 2.2

if i were to lower my 60' and get a cut out and just a stall i'd be at mid 12's.

ohh and i have 110k on the clock.

Getting better! I have seen cars with more mods go slower and cars with less mods go faster. I would say your not to far off of what you should be!!!!
Congrats on the new best!!!!! 2.2 60ft is killing you!!!

what was the elevation?

The car will run hard with a stall and cutout upgrade + DR's.

the elevation was 1200 give or take, but i used to calculator on Dragtime.com and it said the final DA was something like 2600 or so.

said that a mildly modified Naturally Aspirated engine would run a 13.003 corrected. and yea with a stall this thing will be a beast, right now it you have to really hold the brake down because the car just wants to take off right away.

personally im really happy with the car and its time. i dropped .6 with just the long tubes 1LE elbow and airfoil.

and im in phoenix AZ if anyone wondered. ran the car at Speedworld.

2600 is up there compared to most of us getting low 500's and better these days

I know the cutout will pick you up some good power over that Flowmaster + a stall you will see huge gains from with traction.

the mods will never end

no they are only begining

i'd say with a stall some traction mods and cut out i should be mid to low 12's DA corrected that is.

not too bad for a baby cam too

i really like the cam too thanks everyone over at Speed Inc!

Even with an A4 it seems like something isn't right. I don't want to bust your ***** or anything and if your happy that's what matters, but there are full bolt on only A4's going 105-107 mph full weight. I could see a little less for the flowmaster but a stall won't really affect mph more than like 1 mph. Still a stall would probably give you a 12.7-12.8 in the same conditions which is very respectable. Those miles most likely won't effect the track times much either but if I had a cammed car still running 13's I would be a little frustrated. Good luck though and keep working at it.
