Default Who all has removed the bracket that connects the alternator to the intake?

I've been looking at pics of LT1 engine bays and I see some people use the brace and some don't? I'm just wanting to clean up under the hood and the more I can pull off the cleaner it will be. But I'm not gonna have it be unstable or anything if I do that.

For those that don't know here is a pic of the brace I'm talking about. It is the green brace that has 2 pieces going to the front and back of the alternator. Not my car by the way but it was an akward color and stood out to make my point. LOL

Got rid of it when I rebuilt my engine, Couldn't see a reason for it as the alternator is held in tight on the accessory bracket.... (not to mention I forgot it..)

the_Merv snapped his accessory bracket there, I know this cause I've got his old engine here, with a homebrewed bracket, that does its job well though. He'll recommend you use that bracket on the back.

hmmm, I may consider taking out the thick one in the front but keeping the rest just in case.

I still have mine, but the bracket too the exhaust manifold i left out, the bracket to the intake isn't in the way of anything, so don't see any reason to take it off.

Well I'm thinking of pulling it off if it doesn't provide any structual integrity.

Mine's gone. I used to be very **** about making sure it went back, I had charging problems in my 95 with it missing.
I don't like it being gone in the 93, but it doesn't fit the new setup.
I might fab something up to replace it someday .... maybe...

You must not have had to do much work on the old LT1.

People have broken the accessory mount without that bracket. I ran without it for a short while myself, but reinstalled it. One day I was doing something under the hood with the car running, and revved the engine with my hand on the throttle body. I saw the accessory bracket flex. That was more than enough reason for me to put it back on.
