CC503 & 3.42s with M6...
#2
Before I put down my car, I had just gotten done rebuilding the motor (including a cc503 cam application and 6speed swap). Since I wasn't able to decide between 3.73's and 4.10's and funds didn't allow yet, I was still rocking the stock auto 3.23's. Honestly, the car was a dog. It wasn't horrible, and the 1500rpm at 65mph wasn't bad lol, but the thing was just begging for steeper gears.
I highly doubt 3.42's are going to be terrible, but the steeper gear would probably wake her up a little.

Will I be screwed if I stay with my stock 2.73's? Yes, it's an M6 with 2.73's and I plan on putting in a CC503.
I want to change the rear gears but because of the weird ratios in an M28 I'm never sure what to go with, 3.73's or 4.10's.

Here's the ratios:
Year - Model/Optn - 1st - - 2nd - - 3rd - - 4th - - 5th - - 6th - - Final
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1993 - Manual/M28 - 3.36 - 2.07 - 1.35 - - 1.00 - 0.80 - 0.62 - - 2.73 (GU2)
1993 - Manual/M29 - 2.97 - 2.07 - 1.43 - - 1.00 - 0.80 - 0.62 - - 3.23 (GU4)
1994 - Manual/MN6 - 2.66 -1.78 - 1.30 - - 1.00 - 0.74 - 0.50 - - 3.42 (GU6)
With that 1st gear and 6th gear, I would probably stay with 3.73's, maybe 3.90's if you wanted. I have a M29 swap into my TA, and it was definitely a noticeable difference, and I'm still on the stock 3.42's. I'm contemplating either 3.73 or 3.90 after I build my 383.
