Default LT1 with 3" SS hood.

I posted up one of these a while back in the apperance section and got no resoponse so I figured I would post one here. Does anyone have the 3" SS hood. I have seen pictures of the hood but not one on an LT car. All the searches bring up a few LS cars. Anyway pics would be great. Also anyone running with a regular SS hood I'd like to see them to. Thanks in advance.

Those look bad ***. Are they functional? I've never seen one in person so I wouldn't know. Do they look as good in person as the pics or not because they don't seem to be very popular?

The front of the hood is open and They can be made functional with some custom intake piping or a Single plane intake conversion but other then that all it does is allow cool air into the engine bay and out through the backside.

You can see my STB through the opening

I'm gonna say thats the best looking hood on our cars. The Sunoco is a close second, but the 3" SS looks really mean. Are the factory SS hoods 2"?

Smoked has the nicest 'original' cowl style simply because his isn't that cheap "mold on" style with that ugly *** rib down the middle

I think the 3" SS actually looks a bit better than the factory. But to complete that 3" you need a Whipple under there

'Smoked' has the VFN 3.5" SS hood that the 4 other people that posted in the thread also have.

I use to own the ss hood, I sold it and got the sunoco hood instead. I always thought about switching back but i will only do that if I can make it functional with the LS motor.

Default Pin-On or Bolt-On

Which way is the best? Obviously theres a price and weight difference, but what other advantages/disadvantages are there? I had a bolton Harwood on my 91 Firebird, and it worked great, but Ive always liked the pin on style. Is removing the pin on a two man job? and how is installation? Fitting a fiberglass hood is a pain, so is a pin on just that much harder?
