True Duals that exits out the rear?
Ok, I've been searching on here for over an hour, and I can't get a straight answer on my question. Does ANYONE make an over the axle true dual set-up for LT1 cars? I want to have TD's put on the car, but I don't want to dump it under the car. I'd also perfer to have the mufflers mounted behind the axle. Some please have some good news for me. Thanks!

heres a post i made a few days ago. tspence45 has had em come out the back under the axle rather then over. a few guys have done it successfully. in order to get it over the axle you need to get panhard bar relocation kit.
personally i am leaning towards going under the axle. someone on my post made a good point...unless something gos stright under the car without hitting the tires...shouldn't hit anything goin under

That is a good point. I'm still open to the over axle set-up, but it looks like the under axle set-up would be much cheaper. I still want to have the mufflers mounted after the axle though.

My setup was pretty inexpensive, and like said, it was taken under the axle. After I had the mufflers moved I've had no issues with ground clearance, and it sounds meaner than hell. I'd suggest some knock-off Flowmaster single chamber mufflers. You can get the pair shipped to your door for around $60, and they're the exact same thing as the Flows. I couldn't be happier with my setup.

Performance Auto Fab, a sponsor here, has done several TD systems that exit over the axle out the back... Theres at least one set up I know of that had Borla round mufflers mounted cross ways in the back behind the axle. I think it was on a Red SS...The set up looks great. I don't know of any kits, though. The PAF set up looks incredible....

This looks like it only fits on a 95+ car with the dual cat Y pipe, not on LT...

and this too..
This Looks good 2 but this is only avail in 3" pipe...and you would need to buy tips or turndowns if you want the pipe to exit at the bumper...

Relatively minor mods to make it fit LT's. Mine really didn't take that much work to do.

These are all great ideas, but I think I'm gonna try and go the route that tspence45 went. I just watched the vid he put up, and that set-up sounded like pure sex. lol It makes my Loudmouth 2 sound like crap.

A competent exhaust or fab shop should be able to do the exhaust without needing a padhard brace relocator kit, but it would make it easier.
The Bassani is the only pre-made kit like others said above (I bet it sounds amazing though), but a shop would probably do it for a lot cheaper. My whole setup cost around ~700 with mufflers.

That's kinda what I'd perfer. The LM2 I have right now sounds great, but it pops, and gets alittle raspy at mid-range. Of course what do you expect with bullet mufflers. lol About how much did the shop charge you to fab, and weld up you set-up?

I had them do the LT header install, plugs, wires, fab up the x, and I also bought the piping to go under the axle to out back. All that together was $300. They said it would've only been $200, but they had so much trouble getting my old Edelbrock shorties off. But, I also had to go back to get my mufflers moved. They had to use all new piping from the axle-back, so they charged me another $120 for that.

@ tspence45, Do you happen to have any pics of your set-up? I'm curious to see how your mufflers are mounted. Did you get those 13" long single chambers on ebay?
