Default Going under the knife tomorrow!!

After a few months of research and parts gathering I am finally ready for the install. I am dropping the motor through the bottom but am still scratching my head on what would be best to set the k member on while I lift the car off of it. I will be using a lift so it should make life a little bit easier but I couldn't find a furniture dolly that looked stable enough to support that much weight. If anyone that has done this before has any suggestions I would appreciate it, and any last minute tips and things to look out for are welcomed. thanks guys

I use a floor jack under the k member and a very light duty dolly under the tranny. It definitely isn't as convenient as a nice big heavy duty dolly to put under the whole thing but it works and I have never dropped it

Well you'll be atleast a couple hours in by the time you need to support the engine, so you can take a break, get breakfast/lunch and buy a dolly.
It will be alot easier than using a jack.

You just leave the wheels on it and put a jack under the trans and wheel it out. Pretty easy.

Yeah pretty much. My dolly is smaller and much lower to the ground. It is probably 24"x15" and 6" off the ground. I do it with no wheels on the k member though.

well, I got the engine and trans out of it wasn't all that difficult but definately wasn't much fun! The place I am doing it at closed at 4 it took me 6 hours to drop the kmember and roll it out from underneath. I was under the assumption that it could be done much faster but checking and rechecking everything is time consuming. I have to wait until tuesday to tear back into it but I will keep everyone posted as it goes, I also took a TON of pictures mainly just so I could see how it goes back together if I have any questions but I will be more than happy to post the pics once it is complete or somewhere in between.

I just drop it as is and lift/use the transmission as a lever to wheelbarrel the whole thing around.
