Default braided fuel lines for lt1

Has anyone done a braided fuel line conversion? I really want to do it by cutting the fitting out of the back of the rails and have 6a's welded in. Has anyone done this? have any pics?

its somewhat straitfoward, tap the -6an fittings into the fuel rails, run a T fitting from the single main line to split into the new rails, also remember now you should get a quality fpr. this is what i plan to run:

stock tank, sump welded on
single main s.s line(unsure of size)
areomotive a1000 external fuel pump
areomotive adjustable fuel pressure regualtor
-6an return fuel line
and obviously the 2 -6an fittings into the back of each rail. and i want to run the main line into the engine compartment though the plate where my heater core used to be. basically out of sight.

hope that helps somewhat

you don't need to modify the rails for this

you need 4 quick connects to convert to AN

approx 12ft of line

4x #6 straight hose ends

remove the driver inner wheel well and drill a hole to route the lines through

see my car:

I really believe that the fuel system is one item that really doesn't get enough attention. I run an 8 AN feed line on all of my Stockers and a 6 AN return. Even when I was running IHRA Pure Stock I found some gains in moving more volume than was needed. That also entails running a better fuel pump and a high quality regulator.

These are the fuel rails that I did for the kids "stock internals "car.

The fuel stays cooler in the rails.

I guess I should have said that i have the 1993 lt1. So my fuel lines are connected beside the fuel rail right in the middle of the rail. And my crossover tube is behind the rails, not over the top towards the front like the 1994-1997

I have seen the 93 rails, but can't recall the connections.

if they are clip on then the quick connect fittings shown should still work, but you may need different ends

90, 45, etc

Yes the quick connects still work. I want the fuel lines to come up behind the rails though. Do you know if anyone makes rails with 6an fitting on the back of the rail?

Maybe Caprice will post up photos of the rails that I fixed for his 1993 intake? I use 1994-up rails and add an AN crossover.

I get ya...

as Gizmo noted go 94+ rails and if anyone in your area can weld it's not a big deal to convert the rails

hes not gonna be able to go 94+ rails unless he gets rid of the crossover at the front! the 93 intake anifold doesnt have the line for the crossover to sit in

theres a pic of my old 93 manifold, as you can see 94+ fuel rails will not fit with their crossover at the front

Yeah I actually misunderstood gizmo. I do know about the differences on the manifould though, and the rails. Thats why im really just going to end up cutting and welding at this point, anything to get rid of that ugly afterthought gm came up with. I mean, every other car has the lines up the firewall, why change it for the fbodys?
Oh and by the way dsmawd350, if your TA is a 1993 i have the same car as you, except mine is a t-56 ttop. But yours looks badass

When you convert 1994+ rails to fit 1993 intakes you weld plugs where the crossover normally goes and build a new crossover using welded in AN fittings. I used to run the 1993 intakes on my Stock Eliminator motors until they corrected the spec. sheets, so I have done a few of these.
