According to Summit's website, they're hydraulic flat tappet lifters for a SBC. You could use them in your LT1, but it would be a serious downgrade from the stock hydraulic roller.

So, you're saying he can use flat tappet lifters with a roller cam?

No, I don't believe I said that anywhere.

If he felt compelled to use the lifters (I'm not sure why anyone would), he could use a flat tappet hydraulic cam in his LT1. Of course, he'd probably want to go with a carb and regular distributor at that point because I'm not sure how he'd drive the optispark unless a drive pin was added.

Definitely not a wise idea. Hydraulic roller cams have steeper ramp rates that keep the valve at max lift for longer (hence why hydraulic rollers provide more HP). Flat-tappet lifters cannot withstand the increased ramp rates and, consequently, it would be pretty easy to wipe a cam lobe.

Hydraulic roller and flat-tappet combined is a BIG no-no!
