Anyone make their own alternator relocation brackets?
Im thinking of relocating my alternator and ditching the power steering and a/c. Has anyone made their own brackets? I just can pay $200 for a piece of metal. Also Can I just plug my steering rack and be done with it?

I just did a bunch of searches until I found the design that I liked, then mocked it up using multi density fiber board. Once I got it to fit right, I paid a welding shop $15 to do the rough cut out for me. I finished it off with a die grinder and a bench grinder. I ended up with about $50 and a lot of time invested. All in all, the one that LS 1 Speed has for $159 is not a bad deal.

I've seen them for as little as $99 shipped to your door, belt included. I've seen some other real nice ones (billet) that are a lot of money and you can hardly see them once they are in the engine compartment. I'd pay up to 125, but thats just me.

I just want to suggest using good material. The reason I had a friend design and fabricate ours is I had 2 others on my car and always had issues. The brackets flexed, tossed belts or squealed on the time.
if you notice with ours it is thick billet and the reason was to prevent any flex
I wish we could offer our stuff cheaper, but with the material and idlers used we have good money into them and have to make a few dollars.
good luck and if you need any info to help just shoot me an email
