Default New motor, drove, now backfires...

I got my motor running and I drove it the other day it has a tune for the cam and everything else. It would run well for about 50 yds of driving then start to mis and buck. I've determined the tune is not right for it but now that I have got it back in the driveway, when I start it, it will back fire and its extremely hard to start.. Before I drove it the other day, It would idle and hold an idle and not backfire. Now it will run for the first minute in a half or so backfire once or twice, then die. Could this possibly be an Opti? or something else?

it can be the opti, maybe a broken plug or plug wire.....make sure all wires are good and check plugs if you d like....run a scanner check for misfires while driving or idling if you have access to one..

I don't have access to a scanner right now... I've already checked the plug wires..

Yea, it would turn over and barely fire. When it did fire it would pop, and then die.

I just got my car running again after I blew the old motor. CC503, full bolt-ons, and MadTuner tune. The car started up fine, idled fine, but as soon as I got on it it would buck/surge/hesitate....basically it ran like ****! Swapped the opti, no changed, triple checked the wires, nothing. I eventually took off the valve covers and all the rockers were off. I adjusted them using the engine running method and the car runs perfect now!
Don't just back them off, readjust all of them.

well it never did backfire until I drove it the other day when I fixed a few things... then it started this bullshit. I guess the valves became unadjusted just from me driving it...

Na, Lifters pumped up.

Re-adjust them all, but you will find that you will end up backing them off, probably about 1/10 to 1/4 turn each from where they were.

mine was similar. used the 1 and 6 method and found a few valves were way too tight. im guessing maybe they were just off the base circle. now i just bring each to tdc and adjust.
