Default 95 Vette

Well I found a deal on a 95 Vette, Car is pretty clean, never beat on, about 175,000 miles. Paint is nice except a few little dings, has Glass and a hard top, Needs tires and the rad has a small leak.
Think I should try and grab it?? I could pic it up for 4k. Its my best buds uncles car so I know its history. Im also thinking this might be a good chance to grab this the trade it for a nice truck to pull my Ws6 to the shootout?
Thoughts???

Oh yeah def a used truck. Id be happy with a 95+ that will pull my car. Although a Vette would be a fun DD in the summer.

yes i agree. my dad just picked up a 1500 for free lol dont know if thatd tow a car though. i think if all you want is a truck dont spend 4k on the vette because you could probably get a truck for that or a bit less the put the rest towards a trailer.

I dont have a place to keep the trailer, and can rent them real cheap from my old snowmobile sponsor Route 12 Rental.
Do you think I could get more than 4k on a trade? I want the nicest truck possible for the money.
I think a 1500 would pull a car No Prob. I used to pull 4 snowmobiles on a 4 place trailer in my old 00 ZR2 Sonoma 4.3 V6 no problem/ My moms ranger on the other hand would struggle real bad and drag the bumper with the same weight.

idk a 1500 might pull a trailer we hav a landscape business so the only trucks that pull trailers r 2500's but i guess they might. id say you'd hav a better chance of gettin a truck for cash then for a vette.

I have a 1999 Sierra 1500 with the 5.3l in it. Trust me, it pulls my Car on a Trailer without a problem.

half ton pickups suck for towing vehicles. the brakes and suspension just arent tough enough to do it well. but if you dont need to tow alot of crap it may not be worth upgradeing to the 3/4 or 1 ton trucks cause of the gas you would burn up on a daily basis.

I've always liked the LT1 Vettes on the exterior. The interior is a bit weird, but it's hard to beat the looks of one. Plus, there don't seem to be too many nice ones around (at least around here). I say go for it.

I wouldnt be towing alot mostly a DD, I just want something to tow the car around if I have to. Like down to the shootout. Most the tracks around here I would drive my car to.

Well, last time I checked, the price on a 94 Vette (friend has one) is like 12-14K in good condition with lower miles. If you could get some tires (any will do to sell it, $280 we'll say) and maybe find a low miles short block (price ranges too greatly) and give it a going through to clean it up (if it needs it), that's a potential $3K profit at the very LEAST. Or a trade for a 2000+ truck I can easily see happening, for starters after you get it, just toss it up on CraigsList as-is and say you're looking to trade for a truck and specify what you're hoping to find.

My nephew sold his 99 vette for $10,000 in very good shape no damage or crashes I think it had around 95,000 miles I found out after he sold it but if I would have know that he was thinking of selling I would have bought it.. but he sold it to buy his truck.
But also I think that he said there was problems on it like the driver seat was tearing on the side you get in on and also the headlight motor did not work but they are very simple things to fix but he let them go un fix for a while and when you see a new truck thats all you want is a new truck and bye bye vette.

I guess it all depends on the area you live in. For example Firebirds, in Alaska my car could fetch $6K!! Yet here, it'd only be about $3500 at the most.

If he could even get $8K for it, it'd be worth it. If it's an M6 then it's got even more going for it.

I just bought a 22,000 mile Complete 97 LT1 engine for $500 out of a wreck. I could swap that in and use the 4 bolt for my Nitrous build????

Well, you could I guess, but the 4bolt isn't anything special. Splayed caps on a 2bolt is stronger, but considering you'd already have the block, it's an option I suppose

I know way to many options!!! I just hope the guy with the vette doesnt bail on me. He said its not for sale anywhere and just sits in the garage. So It looks pretty solid! Now I just need My Tax returns!LOL!
