Crank Pulley
I finally had the time/weather to get out and work on my car today and had a friend helping so everything was going great--got the crank pulley off (used a powerbuilt puller/installer), got the old opti off, new opti on, and then it kinda hit a brick wall. I had gone inside to start scraping the old gasket off the water pump and was having my friend put the crank pulley back on and come to find out he got it on but didn't line the bolt holes up. He thought he could rotate it once it got on there....not the case at all. Now it is on there to where I can't get the puller back on because the hub is right there where the puller grabs on at.
I need advice on how to get this thing off so that I can get the bolt holes lined up right...please advise.

I have a claw puller can't get it to latch on because the hub is right in the middle where the claws latch.
I tried using a rubber mallet on it to tap it off...but all I can really do it bounce it back and forth it's not really coming off any.

The fit from the hub to pulley should be loose enough that you don't always need a puller. So when you get it back off clean up the center bore so you don't end up in this situation again.
It is common to need a puller after it has been on a long time though, dirt and rust causing a tight fit.
