Throttle Body plate
So I recently started a machining class while im up here in college. I've been thinking about what I could do thats relatively easy for my car, and i thought of making my own custom throttle body plate. Unfortunately my car is stored for winter back at home a few hundred miles away. I was wondering if anyone could look into the dimensions for the throttle body plate and the necessary holes and let me know what they are. Any help is always appreciated.
Also if anyone have any ideas for engraving on it i'd like some of those too.

Why don't you just buy a stock plate? I'm sure someone will GIVE one to you. For what you want to do you'd probably need someone to use a dial caliper to measure the distance between the bolt holes to make sure everything lines up perfect.
If I still had my stock plate I'd send it to you for free.

You know it is a rectangle. All measurements in inches, measured w/a dial caliper. All corners are rounded, no reasonable method to measure that.
W - 4.25
D - 2.40
T - 0.85
It's after midnight, just home from the Superbowl, and I'm a little beat.
I'm working on the holes, let me get back with you tomorrow, O.K.?
That should get you enough to get you going. And make 2 while you are at it please, I would like a blank for my BBK TB.

Not a problem, just make a pair and tell the prof you want a backup. I understand what you are going through, college can be a biatch.
I'll post the numbers on the holes today. I have no way of getting the exact measurements (centerline to centerline would be the best), so I'll get you a good estimate on the centerlines and the od's on the screws. The holes will have to be slightly larger, of course. Best of luck on the course, and college in general.

Here we go (all units in inches, the front is considered relative to the front of the engine, left is on the passenger's side):
od on screw - 0.150
Centerline front holes to back holes - 01.50
Centerline back of plate to back holes - 0.325
Centerline front of plate to front holes - 0.20
Centerline right of plate to right-most hole - 0.375
Centerline left to plate to left-most hole - 0.300
Centerline left-most hole to center hole - 1.80
This plate is not perfect, as you can tell if you CAD it out. But I took it out to the TB and verified it is a bit short on the left side. Such is life.
Also, understand I did these measurements (using my dial caliper) on my workbench and eyeballs. Nothing more sophisticated.
Best of luck with your project.

That would be great too, so I have an easy way of verifying while I'm up here as well.
Thanks again, hopefully I can get started on this sometime.
