Default turn signal help!

so, im not sure if this is LT1 specific, but when i use either my left or right turn signal, the lights just stay solid, they do not blink. I think its a capacitor or something? but im not sure. anyone know?

well if these cars werent so old i could go on gm service info and look up circuit and see exactally how it works and what could cause that but gm doesent si doesent go that far back. but my gess would be the capacitor. im pretty shure its all part of the switch on the collum. so you would replace that hole unit.

Try just replacing the bulbs first. Bad bulbs can cause that to happen.

+1. Every time the light stays solid, it has always been a burned out buld. Could either be the front or the back on the affected side.

Does it always happen on the same side?

When it happens, leave the turn signal engaged, find out which side stays solid, step out of the car, and look at the bulbs front and back and see at that moment if one of the bulbs is not lit up.
The problem can also be a bad socket, I have had to replace a few sockets over the years.

yeah, i could try replacing the sockets. None of the turn signal lights are out.. i tried that. i mean, that was the first place to start. but yeah, i really think its a capacitor, i just dont know where to look for it or what to replace.

Could be a bad connection if it's intermittent.

+1 on the bad socket mine was corroded and wasn't blinking... it wasn't making good contact on one side so I had to ghetto it a bit and drill a small hole on the side and put the wire thru there...or you could just replace the socket lol
