Default Eecs?

I was reading about evaporative emmisions controls last night, was wondering is on a 93 V8 f-body. The book was about f-body but didn't specify if a 93 was different cause i know alot of things changed after 93. It talked about a cannister being hidden in the driverside rear left fender. Anyone tell me more about eecs an its importance. Or can i just yank it out

Charcoal canister, it vents your tank of excess pressure and feeds it into your engine for burning. No real reason to remove it unless you're running an aftermarket tank or want a totally tidy engine bay. I'd leave it.

If you remove it, you will have to find a way to deal with the fumes.

I don't think its working because when i unscrew the cap on the gas tank. I smell alot of fumes an there alot of pressure that realises when i take it off.

I thought it's normal to smell gas when the gas cap is off? If you smell gas when the cap is on, then there's a problem with the evap system.

It does, but you don't drive around with your gas cap off. It's gotta vent somewhere.
