What year??
Hello everyone I'm Bruce I'm in the market for a Camaro and I'm wondering which year I should look into?? 93, 94, 95 etc..I've got about 7 grand to spend and I was hoping to have some cash leftover for a few performance mods.
Thank you
Thank you

There are some differences amounst the years. Main ones are that '93 runs in speed density (no MAF), the '95 is a transitional year from OBD1 to OBD2. The '96-'97 is OBD2. The '97 is the 30th anniversary, so it has the newer style interior and gauges. I have a '97, and I like it more than any of the other previous years, probably because of the interior. But either one you get, you can mod it similarly and see the same gains. Have fun with it.

I have always thought 94 was the best year. 93 Would have been the best if they hadnt changed so many things in 94. 93 Has the non electronic 4l60 automatic and I like that. You dont have to get it tuned when you change rear end gears. Also 93's have no MAF sensor and those are expensive when they break.

yeh def go with lt-1. sure ls-1's are faster stock but its more fun being the underdog. and ls-1's u can find all over the place, so lt-1's r a little more rare. i love my 96' and wouldn't trade it for the world. i just wish mine was a 6-speed. but o well im acctually getting ready to install headers. any way got off subject. just get what u want and what u like thats just my 2 cents.

I like 96-97 obd2 cars myself. Ive had both years and both times I got fast cars stock.
Both cars responded great to mods and tuning always seemed easier. If you live in IL there are no more emission tests for 95 and down wich is a plus, but thats pretty easy to get by with obd2 and tunning the codes out.

i have had two 1994 Camaro z28 and i love them both they are fun to drive and put down lots of torque. I bought mine for $3K. yo can use the rest of your money to mod the car or even replace anything that needs to be fixed! I say go with a 1994!

Well once you get your car post it up and I'm sure you will get plenty of feedback of what to put on and what not to put on. I figure you should at least have a cpl grand left over from that 7k you have if not more. We will guide you in the correct direction once it's time for the mods

Don't mean to burst your bubble but this is why you won't get 14k for your car..with the economy the way it is LS1 are now going for a lot less (even w/ mods)

I was going to recommend a 98 LSx, but that's a fair enough reason. I'd say 95. Why? Well... I bought a 93 so I have a shiteload of hind sight! 95 has the vented opti, OBD1 still, middle of the road heads (still decent amount of meat to get ported), and it's PCMed. 93s are a decent start if you want a full out race car though, same car for the most part but less things are computer controlled (dash for one). Though if you want a fun daily driver that you want to mod easier, the 95 would be it. Now, I don't think many places can Dyno Tune the OBD1s, so if that's your big thing, might as well look into a 96 or 97. Getting tuned though is 1000x easier with the 94-97 vs the 92-93 (92 if you get a Vette).
