While I've never driven an automatic Fbody, I do have a couple of friends who have driven A4's with 4.10's and they didn't like it and would recommend 3.73's.

Try not using overdrive for a week or two, will give you a good idea of the rpms you would have to get used too.

I'm running 3.73 and they are more then enough. Just like Caprice said, don't use overdrive and that pretty much sums it up. I honestly think you would hate it. Unless you only use it for the strip I wouldn't do it. 3.73's will do you just fine.

i have 4.10s in my 96 T/A. I would only recommend these gears if it is NOT a daily driver. You will probably be happier with 3.73s

This really won't give you more of an edge. Traction comes into play so keep that in mind.

Yeah stepping it up in gear it's a whole new feeling and it will take some practice from the hole

^^^
3rd gear with 2.73s is:
1.0 * 2.73 = 2.73
4th gear with 4.10s is:
.70 * 4.10 = 2.87

if you're mostly low speeds and in town then go 4.10s. 3.73s are a great gear for every day use.

but...

first gear with 4.10s is:
3.06 * 4.10 = 12.546

4.10 is gonna be annoying

even 3.73s bother me on the highway a little I could only imagine a 4.10/11
