Nobody had send me any rears for an LT1 until this week now I have two sets sitting here to do. I got the piston and what not out that was easy, but how the hell do you remove the huge ebrake assembling thing? I'd really prefer to remove that rather than coat it all together at once, that would be a pain. That nut on the backside that appears to hold it all on just spins some kind of grease fitting on the other side when I turn it, doesn't do anything.

its been awhile since i took it apart but i dont think the grease fitting has to come out when taking the ebrake stuff off. i know theres a allen head bolt and a spring that has to come out and i think thats it. like i said though havent done one in a minute so no guarantees

part number 3 is my problem. it has the nut, #12 on the back side, then a crush collar thing on the other side, #2. When you turn the nut #12 it just spins the whole thing #3. that's all that appears to be holding the whole ebrake thing on(#8)

thanks flamingchicken. yes If i got the spring out of the way I could get at the allen head which holds the 2nd guide pin, which also needs to come out. But it would still leave the entire ebrake bracket attached to the caliper.

It looks simple but it isn't... there was just another thread I ran across where someone wanted to remove it for weight savings and some others said they have removed it.... I'll look for it

Getting at that allen head confused me also...

Its ok, both guys said just leave the damn thing on and coat everything so that's what I'm going to do.

I did my first set of LT1 fronts this week also and they too were a pain compared to LS1 fronts lol.

Well, since I already got all the pictures made up, here they are for anyone else interested. Picture names reflect year (95-97). If they're different or not, I don't know, but the diagrams had more/less info depending on year, so I figured I might as well mentioned the years it showed the pics for just in case.
