Default 383 Block Clearancing

I assembled my shortblock using the standard eagle 383 kit with ARP rod bolts and the RA doesn't hit anywhere in the block, rod bolts come close to the block but never make contact.

is there is a certain "breathing room" required even if the RA doesn't make contact with the block?

thanks

you also want to confirm pan clearance. I did it without gasket just to give me even more room with the pan gasket. #2 rod bolt, IIRC, made "slight" contact. Just massaged the bottom of pan with rubber mallet from inside slightly and checked again.

better to have someone rotate engine with your ear to the pan.
