Question Timing Cover?

It's been so long I don't remember. Do you have to drop the front of the oil pan to replace the timing cover gasket. If so, does anyone know if you can replace the oilpan gasket with the trans still hooked up. If I remember right you could drop the pan by jacking up one side of the engine. Just curious. I have to replace the opti so I might as well reseal everything that is leaking...which is everything. lol!

You have to undo the oil pan bolts, loosen all but the last two to drop the pan enough to get the timing cover off and on. If you look at the recent threads, you'll see one about how to change the oil pan gasket.
