Default weight reduction ?

ok so my cars finally down and im drivin the old truck. the motors comin out soon and weight reduction should start soon. but i have a question about the honey comb type pieces behind the bumpers. first off what are they? lol and are these ok to remove on a street car? they seem lik a nice chunk of weight that id lik to get off if its safe.

Remove em, the foam doesnt actually weight that much its the bar that its attached to that weights the most.

Prob just helps keep the shape of the bumper on a low low impacts. (i.e. backing into something)

u can remove them just don't hit any one else's car and don't get hit by anyone else's. without the supports there is no stiffness in the bumpers to prevent them from flattening out on small impacts.

Can anyone chime in on the way the front bumper performs without any support at trap speed? I.E., bumper deflection and/or being ripped off?

Ours was fine till it got a small tear in it putting it on the trailer. Then it started collapsing and tearing more at the end of the 1/4 mile
