Default Rear end noise?

I have looked , took it to sears and pep boys and no one can find anything but it makes a horrible clunk noise when turn the wheel and reverse all the time. Sometimes after it warms up and slow speeds. I dont feel anything when it does it just makes noise. ANY IDEA????????????

When's the last time you changed the rear diff fluid? Also could need positract lube? If you don't know when it was changed, try changing it and adding a tube of GM positract lube. Don't get the cheap imitations, get the real deal.

You should do a rear end flush and get new liquids in there but dont forget the limi slip additive you need.

Also check the suspension and make sure everything is tight. Sometimes Lower control arms, torque arm or panhard bar will make noises if they arent tight all the way

ok did some research on changing fluid out. Is there a oil release on our rear ends or do I have to remove the pan? I wanted to change to synthetic rear end anyway. How many rear end oil should I get? where do I get the lim slip add?

You have to take the pan off to drain the fluids, you can get the limi slip at any autozone along with differential fluid. You should do it every 10,000 miles or so, heck i still need to do mine as well

How are your u-joints? Pretty common issue on these is U-Joints making noise when they are going bad as well. But that usually happens going straight as well as turning...something to check though. Just roll under the car and tug on the driveshaft and check for clunking/play.

Use a good black RTV silicone to seal it up.

Stock differentials will take just under 2 quarts. Fill slowly so you can let the fluid dribble down the axle tubes.

Took it by a rear end / transmission specialist. He only test drove it and stated it maybe a broken bushing for torque arm. He was to busy to get to it right away but I have an appt sat. Keep u guys posted
